Angel Tree Christmas Help

Angel Tree brings Christmas to the disadvantaged. Donating to the Angel Tree Program can help a child or family.  Find out how to get free toys and gifts.  The Salvation Army sponsors this Christmas charity and provides Christmas toys for children and gifts for teens, seniors, and families in need.  Generous donations run this program from groups, organizations, and caring people like you!  Your donations help children each year!

Often, we take for granted that others in our communities can not afford food, warm clothing, or even the ability to buy Christmas toys, games, or clothing for their children.  Angel Tree is a program that is worth supporting.  Your gifts will help make a difference in the life of a needy child or senior.

How do I Find an Angel Tree Near Me?

If your organization wants to host an Angel, visit the corporate site online. Please fill out a registration form and return it before October 17.  Signing up is a short time, and you can not get help when registration ends.

Once they have a list of children, teens, and senior names, they can estimate how many gifts they need to process.  Dates will vary in some states.  Specify how many people your organization would like to help and attend training.

You will receive a kit, including Angel’s tags for your tree.   Decorate your tree appropriately for Christmas with lots of Angels, and advertise the event with e-mails, posters, and lunchroom bulletin boards. You can choose to adopt an Angel to help this Christmas. They can also use your help as a volunteer to work at the Secret Santa Warehouse.

Support from JCPenny Christmas Help

JCPenny is a great supporter of the Angel Tree Program. They have made it easy to simplify the online donation process to an angel.  At their site, you can create a giving group for your job, group, or organization to adopt a family for Christmas, giving to seniors, teens, and children.

You can also locate a group or individual you have chosen to help with a donation. You get free shipping when purchasing an Angel Tree gift from the site.  December 9th is the last day to donate a gift to an angel!

Church Assistance Programs

How the Angel Tree Program Works

If you want Christmas help, sign up with one of your city’s Salvation Army registration locations. To be eligible to receive help, you must meet the federal qualifications and minimum poverty guidelines. If you are receiving assistance, you will need to bring proof of your financial standing and documentation from the Department of Social Services. They help children up to 12 years old and the elderly from 62 and up.

If you have registered to become an Angel, your name, age, sex, clothing, and shoe sizes will be placed on a tag and hung on an Angel Tree in a Mall, Company, Church, or Organization.  Those who want to participate will choose a tag from the tree, purchase the gifts, and return them to the Salvation Army to sort and distribute to the Angels (organizations that give out gifts.)

If you need help with food, clothes, or help with bills, contact St. Paul de Vincent Catholic Church, Salvation Army, or Catholic Charities. To help stretch you money go to the food banks for help. Also go to the department of social services to get emergency assistance, and a referral to a food bank. The Catholic Church gives good food and meat if available. Good luck.
