Are you pregnant, broke, and need help locating financial assistance? There State, Charity, and community organizations that help pregnant women and expecting teens? If eligible, you can receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Infants, and Children (WIC), Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Medicaid.

Programs that Assistance Pregnant Women
Need Prenatal Care? Medicaid is medical assistance for low-income and unemployed parents with children under 18. Medicaid provides state-run medical and financial help for pregnant women, women with children, and pregnant teens, living at home with a parent or guardian.
Pregnant women can receive Medicaid to pay for prenatal visits and hospital bills for delivery costs for the child’s birth. Medicaid tries to qualify a pregnant woman within about 2-4 weeks. Apply for Medicaid
2. CHIP – The Children’s Health Insurance Program
This benefit program offers low-cost and affordable health care for children. It is a step above Medicare as CHIP helps families whose income is too high for their children’s government medical assistance. 3. WIC – Women Infants and Children
WIC or Women, Infant, and children benefits are available for pregnant women who need assistance to maintain and deliver a healthy child. The WIC benefits program provides food vouchers when the woman is a few months pregnant until the child is 5 years old.
These nutrition benefits are a great help, and the vouchers are accepted at most supermarkets. In addition to food and infant formula, the program gives breastfeeding support and help for postpartum women. See if you are eligibility guidelines (here).
4. LIHEAP Energy Assistance
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is available to low-income women with young children. You may receive a check for up to $350 to help with utility bills. You can apply through the Department of Social Service, community outreach programs in your area, and your local utility company. Home heating assistance grants are funded with a yearly subsidy to the Dept of Health and Human Services. On October 15, 2014, ACF awarded approximately $3.05 billion for home heating grants.
5. Free Childcare Assistance
This free childcare assistance helps young mothers go back to school to get a better job, or a mother is already working. Free childcare assistance is the single most important thing necessary to help single mothers remain employed. 7. Home Repair Grants
If you are expecting a child, and own a home, you may qualify for a home repair grant to make important repairs to your house if you qualify financially. 8. Supplement Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
SNAP benefits can only be used to purchase food items. Products that are not allowed are tobacco, alcohol, pet food, or paper products. When you are approved for TANF, your assistance will include SNAP, Medicaid, and a monthly benefit check for rent, utilities, and basics. You will also get an EBT card to use to purchase food. You receive help; you must present:
- Proof of income
- A doctor’s letter proving the pregnancy
- Payroll stub, or letter from government assistance programs
- Proof of citizenship, if a legal US resident ( documentation such as a birth certificate or social security card)
9. TANF – Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
The federal government provides financial help for pregnant women in the way of TANF. This Federal program provides financial support and childcare to financially deprived pregnant women, expecting women, and teens. Cases are reviewed every few months to determine if there has been a change in financial status.
The goal is to give temporary financial support until the mother can become self-sufficiency. This is not a permanent grant. The financial subsidy can purchase foods, clothing, housing, utilities, and medical supplies.
10. TANF for Pregnant Teens
A pregnant teen to receive TANF must live with a parent, guardian, an adult over 18 years old, or an adult-supervised supportive living arrangement. In these cases, the parent, legal guardian, relative, or other adult is the payee on behalf of the minor parent and their child until the mother turns 18.

Babies Bonding Classes to Prevent Child Abuse
The goal of this program is to teach young mothers the importance of bonding with their babies. They offer a 13-week “Bonding Right from the Start” course for pregnant women. One way to get your vehicle repaired for free is to check with NHTSA. Here you can find out if your car’s problem is related to a recall on the car. Go to the website, click ‘recalls,” and enter the VIN of the vehicle. If your car is listed, take it to the dealership to be fixed for free. Consumer Assistance Program (CAP)
In an attempt to improve California’s air quality, CAP will help California residents who qualify financially with a grant to help make repairs to vehicles that do not meet vehicle emissions standards. Repairs are limited to Star test and repair stations.
To be eligible, your care must be 1996 or newer and can receive up to $1,200 toward repairing emissions. If your care is between 1976 and 1995, you can receive up to $900 to help you pass a Smog Check inspection. Apply here
Voluntary Vehicle Repair Program
If you are a resident of Arizona and low-income, you may qualify for a grant for emission repairs on your car. You must be registered in Maricopa or Pima County for at least 12 months. If approved, you may be eligible for $500 and up to $1000, depending on your vehicle’s year and makeup.
The vehicle owner must contribute the first $150 as a co-pay. If you have failed an emission test and your vehicle is 12 years or older, contact the emissions tester to find out how to apply. When approved, locate an ADEQ approved repair facility to make your repairs. Call 520-628-5395

Laid Off Workers – How to get Financial help. Are you unemployed, laid off, or a furloughed worker? You may be eligible for emergency government grants and help with bills. For instance, there are programs local programs that offer emergency financial assistance for basic living needs. You may be able to get partial or full-time financial aid and other types of assistance.
The first thing you want to do is file for unemployment benefits. It will take a few weeks for benefits to kick in, so apply as soon as you have been fired or your hours severely cut. Inform your landlord/mortgage company, utility, credit card, and car loan company to make them aware of the change in your financial situation. Often they are happy to work with you.
It isn’t easy when you don’t know when your next check is coming or how you will care for your family. However, financial help available is available until you get another job. Let’s find out where to look for help.
File for Unemployment Benefits Right Away
All employees pay federal and state unemployment taxes (FUTA tax pays and SUI State Unemployment Insurance) So, don’t feel like you are getting a handout. The Human Services Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) provides financial assistance to low-income families in need of affordable child care. You may be eligible if you are working, and your earnings are below the national poverty level also, if you are attending school full-time. Child care can easily be one of your highest bills other than rent; especially, if you are a single parent or have more than one child.
How to Apply for Child Care Assistance
Laid off workers who are are attending school, may be eligible for help with childcare. Go to the Department of Social Services website to download an application or go to the Department of Human Services to fill out an application in person. A face to face meeting will allow you to ask questions and receive accurate information. Make sure that you have the proper documentation to help speed up the process.

If you are moving from a hotel, shelter, or if you have been displaced and need free furniture, you may be eligible for help from a U.S. furniture bank. Keep in mind, even if you are eligible for help, there is a process. You can not just walk in and get furniture.

If you are looking for financial help for Christmas, sign up for free toys for Christmas with one of the Salvation Army registration locations in your city. In order to be eligible to receive help, you must meet the federal qualifications and minimum poverty guidelines.
You will need to bring proof of your financial situation. Also, you will need documentation from the Department of Social Services if you are received assistance. They help children up to the age of 12 years and the elderly from 62 and up.
First, sign up with Angel Tree. Secondly, give the name, age, sex, clothing, and shoe sizes of the children. Finally, they will be placed on a tag and hung on an Angel Tree located in malls, companies, churches, or organizations. Participants choose a tag from the tree, purchase the gifts. How to get your House Remodeled for Free
The Housing Repair and Rehabilitation Grant Offers assistance of up to $7,500 to rehabilitate your home. Finances are available to low-income rural residents and live in a property needing repair to make the home safe and inhabitable. This includes repairs such as

Finding Home Repair Grants

In order to receive grants to make home repairs, you must provide proof of income, unemployment, ownership, or renting, to be considered for the program. Once you have been accepted, local agencies will come to your home to assess the damage and work that needs to be done.
The Community Development Block Grant Program and Home Program
- Contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and state and local government officials to find free home repairs grants. This grant helps low to moderate-income homeowners who live in urban or city areas.

How To Get A Title I Loan
Title I loans finance minor to moderate property repairs for homeowners, residential property owners, or prospective property owners. Loans can be acquired through HUD’s approved lenders.
It is the lender’s responsibility to check HUD’s list of approved lenders on their HUD website. This process will help you to avoid being scammed by dishonest or unqualified contractors.
HUD will guide you to approved lenders but does not deal with homeowners on one. Always do a background check on anyone who will be repaired your home before applying for a Title I loan.
Who is Eligible for Government Grants?
Eligibility may change from state to state, but basically, these things will be considered.
- Your gross family income
- The age of the homeowner
- The kind of property
- Location of the property
How to qualify for a Loan:
- You must pass a credit check.

1. Autism Cares Today
Autism Cares Today organization helps cover grants to military families with children with autism. They give grant amounts of $100 to $5000 quarterly. This organization has provided grants to over 1562 families with more than 1.85 million grants. For a family to be eligible, they must have a child diagnosed with ASD. Children with severe autism cases may bang their heads on walls or run down the streets. The organization provides children with protective helmets, sensory equipment, GPS tracking. Also, special fences to protect their environment.
Applied Behavior Analysis
This treatment is recognized as the most effective for autism. This therapy includes principal procedures, technological learning. This would include analyzing behavior such as hygiene, learning skills, job competence, among many. These strategies decrease the Childs’s need for special services in workplaces, schools, and homes. ABA helps the children manage lifestyle challenges that may come about.
Social Skills Groups
The organization helps autistic children improve their cooperation, manage their emotions in cases where negative behaviors may arise, conflict resolution, and are taught to listen. This way, the child’s social interactions with people are greatly advanced to a new level.

Include the child affected by autism, the grant request, the description of need, and lastly, the agreement, then click the “Submit Application” button.
2. The Bubel Aiken Foundation
Let’s ALL play is a recreational program that serves autistic children living with disabilities and seeking to open doors that are shut to disabled persons. It includes games and information necessary to run an inclusion program. The foundations will grant $500,000 in support of child and youth organizations to move to full inclusion.
In addition to the grant funding, the Bubel Aiken foundation-supported up to 30 recreational programs as of 2009. The children and teens come together for recreational activities like swimming, physical fitness, and many more. That improves their social and communication skills.
Families earning $75,000 and below are eligible to apply and can receive grants for a maximum of two years. The organization funds up to $1000 per year for a project period of up to 12 months. The approved funding is then dispensed to the approved program. (Website)
3. National Autism Association Helping Hand Program
The National autism association helps qualified families that need help pay for medical services to treat people diagnosed with autism. The program is eligible for needy families who earn an annual income of less than $50,000. NAA offers grants of up to $1500 for biomedical treatments, therapy services, and supplements.
To qualify for this program, he/she must be up to 21 years with ASD and living in the unites states. Each family is awarded a one-time grant amounting to $1000. The program does not cover electronic devices, vacations, or respite care. (Website)

An application form is available on their website where you must fill out details on the family’s personal information, the doctors who treat your child, the parents/guardians’ financial statement, and the income sources that should not exceed $50,000.
4. Joey’s Fund Grant Program Spectrum for Hope Fund
The Joey’s fund grant seeks to expand programs and impact families with multiple children with special needs. Families with one family member are also eligible for the grant and residing in New England. With this grant, a family can receive funding only if they did not receive funding the previous year.
The grant covers music therapies, social skills, art classes, communication needs aided by computer software, recreational programs, camp tuition, and respite care. Families can apply for up to $3000 for multiple disabilities cases and up to $2000 for a single person with autism. The program will consider one program per individual. The families will be required to attach proof of diagnosis, estimated costs, and recent taxes with the application.

The mission of This program is to provide children and adults living with autism a meaningful life. Some of the grants it offers include:
- Safety: Next for safety grant is an initiative that improves awareness among organizations that serve people with autism and families to learn to navigate safety issues.
- Community-connections: Autistic and disabled people may be secluded in the community. This program helps autistic persons learn to relate to others in a societal setting.
- Employment: The grant offers head-on programs to teach students and adults to succeed in work settings.
- Community living: The program seeks to ensure that adults can give meaningful support in the community without depending on their families.

6. Autism Help Network
The Autism Help Network offers grants quarterly to families with financial problems to get a good school, therapy sessions for their children, medical and biometric treatment. The grants are given once a year, covering therapy costs, bio-medical treatments, and medical treatments.
The scholarship grants help families that want specific schooling, private schooling, or extended school year programs. The grants can be up to $1000 specific to therapy and non-experimental biomedical treatment.
For one to qualify, the child must be of school age, and one should clearly state why the child is seeking private schooling. The family should also have an income of less than $45000 yearly for the entire household. (Website)
