The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
It helps families who have experienced natural disasters and helps repair damaged properties or provide temporary housing for displaced families.

What Type of Repairs Does the Weatherization Program Cover
The Housing Repair and Rehabilitation Grant offer assistance of up to $7,500 to rehabilitate your home. Finances are available to low-income rural residents who live on a property needing repair to make the home safe and inhabitable. This grant includes repairs such as:
- Mold removal
- Storm Clean up
- Roof repair
- Weather damage
- Accessible for those with handicaps
- Well, and septic repairs.
- Removing lead paint
- Water heating and furnace repairs
This help is only given to homeowners. They can not help you if you are a renter, living with a family member, or a landlord!
Do you Quality for a  Grant?
If you receive Supplemental Security Income and VA disability Aid to Families with Dependent Children, you are eligible to receive a grant. Contact the government agencies above for a full list of qualifications for the program. You may be eligible if:

How to Find a Grant for Home Repairs
To find money to repair your home, contact: USDA Rural Development, HUD (The US Department of Housing and Urban Development). You can also go to Go to USA.Gov to find a home repair grant for your city and state for help from the Weatherization Program.
You must provide proof of income, unemployment, ownership, or rent to be considered for the program. Once you have been accepted, local agencies will come to your home to assess the damage and work that needs to be done.
Caution!
Beware of scam websites that tell you they will help you get a government grant for a fee. You do not have to pay anything to get a ‘free’ government grant.Â
