Helping during Christmas is not just about donating money. There are different programs from companies that offer assistance aid and other non-profit organizations locally and internationally. 1.ย  God’s Appalachian Partnership

The GAP warehouse has a toy section stocked with new toys and age-appropriate items collected yearly. Every year in December, we open up our toy room to parents so they may shop for Christmas gifts and toys for their kids.

Sponsoring a child’s gifts can help God’s Appalachian Partnership reach out to struggling families this holiday season. Each support, which is tax deductible up to $70, will supply our toy room with gifts worth $40 and cover the project’s administrative costs, totaling $3.

2.ย  Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

The annual Salvation Army Angel Tree program benefits many youngsters across the country. Children and seniors in Kentucky, who have been enrolled and accepted as Angels will receive decent brand clothes and toys from the Christmas wish list of donors within your community. The mission of Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child is to show God’s love to children in need worldwide by collecting and delivering shoebox presents stuffed with toys, school supplies, and hygiene necessities. For most of these children, this Christmas present shoebox is the very first present they ever have received.ย 

Operation Christmas Child has collected and distributed over 198 million shoebox presents to children in over 170 nations and territories. The initiative plans to gather its 200 millionth Christmas present shoebox this year!ย

4.ย  Toys for Tots

Every year this organization collects toys for underprivileged kids for the holidays by setting up donation bins and organizing toy drives. Toys are distributed to children in the middle of December, ensuring each child has at least one present to open on Christmas morning. 5.ย  God’s Food Pantry

Green County, along with 12 other Kentucky counties, benefits from God’s Food Pantry’s monthly food distribution. 6.ย  Join Hands Ministry Christmas Program

Children in Perry County who are six months to 14 years old are eligible to receive Christmas presents. Eight hundred fifty-five children from 332 families in Perry County benefited from the generosity of local businesses, groups, churches, and individuals in 2020. 7.ย  Perry County’s Christmas in a Small Town

This is a celebration and series of events organized by Perry County Kentucky that help local families have a wonderful Christmas. Beginning in the second week of December, there will be a series of events, such as ice skating and a Christmas parade with lights.

Everyone under 13 gets a gift to take home, too. This event spans three days from Thursday, December 8th, to Saturday, December 10th, 2022. The parade will be on Saturday, and the children will receive their gifts on Friday.ย  (606) 439-1816 – Office

8.ย  First Presbyterian Church of Logan

They provide food to qualifying Logan County residents with limited incomes. There is no holiday-themed food pantry program, although they may have Christmas meal supplies available.ย  Phone: 740-385-2242.

9.ย  Calvary Baptist Church

The Calvary Baptist Church offers Lexington Kentucky’s annual Christmas Project, Adopt-A-Family helps needy families celebrate the holidays. 10.ย  Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters

The Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters holds an annual Firefighters Toy Fund to collect gifts for kids from low-income households. Families whose children have registered receive donated toys. Each toy is brand new and unopened. The program requires families to register.

11.ย  Be Concerned

The Christmas Store at Be Concerned throughout Covington, Kentucky is open to low-income families. Free of charge, families can shop for gifts for all of their children at the Christmas store. 12.ย  Mental Health America Of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio

Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio hosts a Christmas party each year for families with at least one member suffering from mental illness. Guests will receive a full Thanksgiving dinner and gifts for children and adults, including blankets, toiletries, and food.

13. St. Vincent De Paul Society

Kenton County families in need are encouraged to apply to the Adopt-A-Family program offered by the St. Vincent De Paul Society in Covington. Through this service, families can find sponsors who then provide them with toys, clothes, household supplies, food, gift vouchers, and other small gifts for the holiday season. 14.ย  Parish Kitchen

15.ย  Martin’s Fork Interfaith

Christmas hampers, food, clothing, free baby supplies, over-the-counter drugs, furniture, community home maintenance initiatives, and garden seeds distribution are all provided by Martin’s Fork Interfaith to the local communities.

16.ย  Mission of Hope

Supporting families over the holiday season and the start of the school year is just the beginning of what Mission of Hope does. Over 18,000 children annually benefit from the program, which provides them with gifts, clothing, food, and personal care items. 17.ย  Bath Wonderland Coat Drive

Helps the homeless by giving them coats as well as other warm apparel. The group is looking for brand-new, gently-used coats, fleece, and blankets. Monetary contributions help greatly.

18.ย  Lions Club International

During the holiday season, the clubs make home visits to the elderly who cannot leave their homes. Their county-run Meals in Wheels program usually provides a daily hot meal to the elders, but the workers are taking time off to spend with their families in Kentucky for the holidays this week.

They started the program 35 years ago at a Thanksgiving feast shared by two clubs. Those involved saw a need and acted accordingly.ย  And they made up their minds that they would lead by example.ย ย To help out on Christmas morning, one man travels 75 kilometers with his family to be there.

19.ย  Operation Homefront

Help spread Christmas pleasure to Kentucky families of our nation’s veterans, wounded service members, and active-duty service members by donating to Operation Homefront’s Holiday Toy Drive! We have worked with Dollar Tree for almost a decade to help military families celebrate the holidays.

Homefront America has several opportunities to aid the troops throughout the year. Over 2,000 kids are happy because of the Toy Store.
