Miami Church Assistance Programs.  Some churches help with rent, utilities, food, clothing, and more. It’s important to be aware of your resources.  Your local church is one of the best resources in the world for the needy.   A church is one of the first locations people will think to donate to, so they have lots to give.

If you qualify and if funding is available, you may be able to get help.  There are church assistance programs in Miami that help with all kinds of essential expenses, such as rent, food, and clothes.

Miami Rent Assistance Programs

Many Miami residents need help with rent to prevent eviction.  If you are on a fixed income, one rent increase can make it different to meet your obligations. The average rent for a one-bedroom apartment is $1,700 or more. 

Rent costs for families that need two or three bedrooms can be astronomical.  Thank goodness for rent assistance programs that helping struggling families pay rent.  Programs rules vary depending on organization and county. 

However, to get assistance, you must prove your rent is overdue or have an eviction notice. All agencies required you to provide proof of income, address, and photo ID.

Jewish Community Services of South Florida

Kosher Food Bank

The Jewish Day Schools and Hebrew Schools students participate in the food program by donated food and other items to help the disadvantaged in the community.  Each month, we will coordinate with JCS Kosher Food Bank to collect much-needed items like toiletries, free baby stuff, canned goods, etc.  You can find other resources.

Thankfully there are many different types of ways to get free groceries to feed your family.  One of the best ways is through church assistance programs.
