Free Christmas Toys – Alabama.   Many families need assistance during Christmas.  Would you like your child to receive a free toy for Christmas?  Christmas is a special time of the year for children.  They have been waiting all year to find out what Santa will bring them.

Unfortunately, every child will not wake up to find a tree filled with toys.  There are many families struggling just to maintain their families.  Christmas only brings added pressure to an already stressed-out budget.

Thanks to the generosity of community organizations and charities your child can receive a toy this year.  Sign up early to make sure your child is not disappointed on December 25th.  If you qualify financially, you can get help.  Some charities also give gifts to the elderly and disabled.

Alabama Salvation Army Angel Tree

Every year the Salvation Army Sponsors the Angel Tree event.  Each event location is filled with toys and gifts and there is a sea of bikes, coats, toys, and stockings filled with candy.  If you are interested in signing your kids up to receive gifts, call a local Salvation Army the first week in October so that your child/children won’t be left out this year.

This Christmas charity is sponsored by the Salvation Army and provides Christmas toys for children and gifts for teens and seniors and families in need. This program is run by the generous donations from groups, organizations, and caring people like you! Your donations help these precious children each year! Click here to register.

Marine Toys for Tots

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity. They collect unwrapped toys from October to December to give out to disadvantaged children in the community.

If you desire help, please contact a location near you. Fill out an application, with your child’s name age and if they are a boy or girl.  Also please bring proof of income and identification for everyone in the household.  Locate a Toys for Tots in your county

Marshall County, Alabama Sheriff’s Department Toy Drive

Every year the Sheriff’s Department in Marshall County has a toy drive to help disadvantaged children. If you qualify financially and want your child to get a toy, apply no later at the sheriff’s office from October 3rd and no later than November 30th.  If your child is between the ages of 1 to 14 they can receive a gift or toy.

Register early to make sure you can receive help. If you have a desire to help the children of the county please feel free to donate new toys in person or by mail to the sheriff’s office.  Of course, help is offered to the neediest of the community, and proof of your financial situation must be verified. Documents needed to get help:

Document required for help

  • Photo ID, Driver’s license
  • Proof of legal guardianship
  • Proof of address (utility bill, vehicle registration)
  • Social Security cards for all receiving help
  • Proof of financial status – pay stubs, child support letter, a document from government assistance programs

The Make-a-Wish Foundation

If you have a child or young person with a critical illness or know a child that is ill, submit their name to the Foundation.  The Make a Wish Foundation has been making dreams come true for many years.  The child must be over the age of 2 1/2 and not older than 18 years old.  When you apply for assistance please bring a letter from your doctor to verify your situation.  If you have a sick child that you want to receive a gift for Christmas please contact this organization.

Angel Tree and Prison Fellowship

Angel Tree, is a program that gives free Christmas toys to children who have one or more parents in prison.  The program helps maintain the connection between the parent and child. Just because someone is in jail, doesn’t mean they don’t care about their children.  Receiving a gift in the name of their parent, reminds them they are not forgotten.

The program is facilitated through thousands of churches.  Inmates can request their children receive a gift.  Give children’s names ages sizes and whether they are male or female. You can help a child or family by donating to the Angel Tree Program.  Their name will be placed on the Angel Tree.  Prison Fellowship Alabama
