Free Financial Help Services is a Georgia-based nonprofit organization that provides essential resources for low-income families and individuals. Our mission is to connect those in need with comprehensive support to help cover necessary expenses, such as utilities, housing, food, and home repairs.

We partner with government charities and church organizations across the United States, offering reliable guidance on how to apply for and qualify for various forms of financial assistance. Our website serves as a one-stop resource for those seeking help, making it easier to find and access the support services available in your area.

People Need Help During Uncertain Times

Many of us know what it is like to pay our bills and have nothing left.  Some don’t have enough for bills at all.  Life can be stressful, but there is hope in knowing that many communities have outreach organizations and government programs that help support those who need not a handout but a hand-up.  I have needed help from time to time. And I know trouble is not here to stay.  And there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Don’t give up; you are stronger than you think.

Charities that Help Pay Bills

The Salvation Army and Catholic Charities help with housing, food, counseling, immigrant services, anti-trafficking, and more. The United Way can help you locate financial assistance and other support services in your city.  Each charity is funding my donations and government and private donations.

The United Way offers local help in finding programs that help with bills.  If you qualify financially and funding is available, you can get help.  Remember that you may have to go to multiple organizations to get all the services you seek. Contact them by dialing 2-1-1.

Government Programs

When you qualify financially, you can receive government help like WIC, SNAP benefits, LIHEAP, Financial Aid, etc. These programs allow the very poorest in America. The working poor may also be eligible for many of these programs. Go to USA.gov for a government program that meets your family’s needs if you need it.

 Free Financial Help Programs

To receive free help from the government, charities, and community organizations, your gross income must be at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If you need assistance with bills, please use this site as a resource to find the help you need.

Find financial support in your state. These or some programs can provide emergency assistance until you can get back on your feet again. You must qualify financially and provide ID, proof of income, and address.  Go here to find the Poverty Guidelines of 2024.

1.  Financial Help for Single Mothers

Single moms are often the sole providers for their households.   Many organizations specialize in women’s issues so you can get the help you need to become self-sufficient.  Financial aid programs help with rent, education, utilities, and food and assist single mothers.

2.  Financial Help for Pregnant Women

Expecting a child is a big responsibility, even if you are married.  If you are single or a teen, it can be overwhelming. Pregnant women with lower incomes may be eligible for free prenatal care and SNAP, Medicare, TANF, and WIC.  You may also qualify for supplemental nutrition with SNAP benefits, bills, and health services.  (Free help for pregnant women).

3.  Food Assistance

You can live without utilities and a permanent home, but no one can live without food.  That is why many community food pantries are available to help endangered families across the United States.  These food assistance programs help families feed their families.

4.  Financial Help with Free Furniture

Suppose you move into a new home after homelessness or have experienced a disaster.  There are free furniture banks, partners with charities, and private donations to help you start again.  Find out how to get free beds, linen, dishes, and everything you need to manage a home.

5.  Christmas Assistance Programs

Christmas is a special time for many, but it can be stressful and depressing if you are unemployed or have had your hours cut.   Christmas programs help you find financial assistance.  Find out about Christmas charities in your community, how to get a complimentary holiday basket, dinner, and toys for Christmas, and help with your household bills.  

6.  Support with Medical Bills

Health coverage is a costly monthly bill, and many families can not afford insurance.   Medical issues can arise unexpectedly, and you can owe thousands of dollars in medical bills if unprepared.  Find out about these opportunities to get free medical care or help with medical debt.

7.  Help With Dental Care

Often, people do not realize that dental health directly affects your general health.  For most low-income families, dental insurance is out of reach.  You will be happy that dentists treat you for free or at a small cost.

8.  Home Repair Grants

Government programs are available to help disadvantaged homeowners with necessary home repairs.  (Get information about free home repair government grants, and free gov money)

9.  Financial Help for Families in Need

Charity representatives join the government to help screen and distribute funding to disadvantaged families and individuals in the community. Charities and churches do not withhold assistance based on religion.  Financial grants are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.  (Contact Catholic Charities for financial aid)

10.  Free Gas Vouchers

Depending on your state, gas has risen to $10 or more a gallon.  Some organizations give out free gas vouchers so people can get to work, make doctor’s appointments, etc.  This temporary assistance can get you out of a bind and back on the road.

How to Get Financial Help with Bills

• Sign up for a free government cell phone from Lifeline
• Apply for Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)
• Contact 211 (United Way).  For a list of financial programs in your city.
• Go to the Department of Social Services.  Apply for expedited financial assistance.
• Call charities that help pay bills.  Salvation Army, Catholic Charities.

According to Welfare Statistics and Demographics, 19% of US residents need government financial assistance. In 2021, the Federal government spent $1.5 trillion on welfare programs. We will show you how to get help with rent payments, utilities, healthcare, and other financial emergencies.

Financial Hardship Programs

We all have times when things get complicated.  What do you do when you don’t have a family or your family is also struggling?  A GoFundMe page won’t get you the help you need in time.  However, some organizations help pay household debt like rent, lights, water, gas, etc.

It will take a little research, phone calls, and footwork!  Once you find help and it is approved, they will contact your landlord or utility provider to let them know so they can help you.  This alone can stop an eviction or the loss of light, water, or gas services.
