Holiday Assistance FAQs (2026)

Can I apply to more than one holiday program?

Yes. Different programs are funded separately and cover different needs (toys, meals, bills). Applying to several is how most families get the help they need. Just be honest on each application.

What documents do I need?

Most programs ask for a photo ID, proof of address (a recent bill or lease), proof of income or benefits (pay stubs, SNAP or Medicaid letter), and birth certificates or school records for children.

What if I missed the registration deadline?

Call the program directly and ask about a late or waiting list. Many churches and community centers also serve walk-in holiday meals with no registration, and 211 can point you to programs still taking applications.

Is this help really free?

Yes. Legitimate holiday assistance programs never charge you to apply. If anyone asks for a fee to “guarantee” toys or benefits, it is a scam.
