To determine what type of help your family needs, home visits may take place.  These visits will be done by staff and coordinated by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Duval County office.  Often families are in such distress they overlook other needs in the home that may be addressed.

When other needs are revealed, they will direct the individuals or family to the proper resources to help bring the family back to stability.  Financial assistance and other resources such as food, clothing, counseling will be included when you qualify.

  • Help with housing or utility payments is available.
  • Travel vouchers or help with gasoline to get back and forth to work or to receive necessary medical care.
  • Vouchers to their thrift store to get clothing, basic furniture need, or food may be available.
  • Holiday assistance for Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas dinner.

Please note that all Parishes do not offer these services, so contact the Jacksonville St Vincent de Paul Parish near you to find out what is available. When you apply, be prepared for a home visit.   If there is no Parish in your area, or if the help you need is not available, they will direct you to other assistance programs in your area.
