Getting Help From St Vincent de Paul

To determine what type of help your family needs, home visits may take place.  These visits will be done by staff and coordinated by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Duval County office.  Often families are in such distress they overlook other needs in the home that may be addressed.

When other needs are revealed, they will direct the individuals or family to the proper resources to help bring the family back to stability.  Financial assistance and other resources such as food, clothing, and counseling will be included when you qualify.

  • Help with housing or utility payments is available.
  • Travel vouchers or help with gasoline to get back and forth to work or to receive necessary medical care.
  • Vouchers to their thrift store to get clothing, basic furniture needs or food may be available.
  • Holiday assistance for Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas dinner.

Please note that all Parishes do not offer these services, so contact the Jacksonville St Vincent de Paul Parish near you to find out what is available. When you apply, be prepared for a home visit.   If there is no Parish in your area, or if the help you need is not available, they will direct you to other assistance programs in your area.

    1. Hello Bernice. I am sorry all the Christmas programs are closed for the year. Call around to see the churches to see if they are doing anything. Keep in mind the babies and younger children are helped first.
